I remember when I was 9 and Power Rangers aired for the first time. The world seemed to go crazy for it and so did I and my young fandom lasted right up until the movie…And then just dropped off for some reason. I think it must have been a case of the movie being the peak of it for me and after that the show just no longer had its charm. I knew that Power Rangers was still around but I never again took an interest.
Skip forward nearly 20 years…
I now have a 4 year old daughter who like me enjoys everything of flight and fantasy. One rainy, dreary day we found ourselves visiting the Netflix app on my X-Box and started shuffling through the children’s option. My daughter’s eyes suddenly burst open as she asked “What’s that?” I looked at where she was pointing and there were the heroes of my childhood. I put it on and suddenly I realized we had watched four episodes in a row. Before I knew it my daughter was hooked and so was I. I was exploring the adventures of not just the show I loved as a child but the follow ups that I never saw. Some were good (Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue / Power Rangers Jungle Fury) and some were bad (Power Rangers Wild Force – annoyingly my daughter’s favorite).
Let me just clarify I don’t let my daugther watch TV all day. We are a very outdoors family but at the end of the day we like to wind down with an episode or two and so I decided to couple the enjoyment of this pastime with my love for writing reviews by starting this site.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Hope you will stick around to read more reviews.
